3 Myths in Cost of Video Production

Videos are probably one of the most powerful ways in conveying something, due to which it is used in marketing and advertising under the banner of Video Marketing. Video marketing has its own pros and cons, along with myths and future predictions. People run into a lot of myths during the process of video production. Here are some myths which are busted

Video production is expensive: Video production depends upon your needs. Based on your needs the expenses you will end up incurring. It all depends upon how much video production you need four your campaigns. There are a lot of factors affecting the pricing of video marketing, such as:

    1.  Pre Production: Pre production is all about covering the costs related to the content, actors and the location. If you are using your own team members in this     process, then the costs are likely to be less

     2. Production: This step involves deciding if your video is going to be live action or animated. Here you have to decide which suit the script and which will deliver   a better outcome through more conversions. Here in this step you have to know what you want to produce and how you want to produce.

    3.  Post Production: If you are planning on making a video which has a small duration it doesn’t mean that it will be cheap. Here you have to consider how much     content is going to be included/ excluded in the editing process.

2. Cheap videos are more preferred: There is a big difference in a video being shot on a cell phone and that being used in social media marketing and videos being shot by a professional. The former will be of less quality compared to the latter. So when you hire professionals to create your videos, you are delegating various duties to them, such as ideation, curation and implementation. In that case, video production cannot be cheap. Cheap videos, particularly the ones shot on cell phones if they are used in campaigns they might not be that effective compared to the ones shot by professionals.

3. Various video production projects are priced equally to different clients: Let us assume a fruit seller who sells different varieties of a fruit. It might be procured from different places, or it might be having different tastes, so they might be priced differently. The same goes for video production. Every project is different. Production houses view every project as a unique project. If you end up consulting different video production houses and receive different quotations, you have to consider the following factors for picking the service:

    1.  Pre Production: Script development, ideation, curation etc.

     2. Production: Location, number of crew members, equipment used, time taken for filming etc

     3. Post Production: Graphics/ music to be added, if any
